Swimming Lessons

The girls have been taking swimming from Mrs. Liz.  This was Caroline's first year.  She and Rylan have done fantastic.  They are great at hiding their faces in the water.

This is Juliann's fourth year to take.  She is doing awesome!

Mr. & Mrs. Gates Wedding Celebration

Saturday morning, I woke up early and went for a six mile run.  When I returned, Jeff was ready to mow the yard so we could head to San Marcos for a little shopping before the wedding.  As Jeff was mowing, he noticed that Maverick (his 10 year old black lab) hadn't been walking around following him like usual.  He went to check on him and found him dead on his pillow.  He must have passed away during the night.  We are unsure why.  So Jeff and his Dad took care of burying him at his parents house.  They had to dig a huge hole for Maverick, a 120 lb. dog.  After all of that, Jeff finished mowing and we took the girls to his parents house.  They went to a wedding in EC with Yaya and Papi, while Jeff and I headed to Kyle.  We arrived in San Marcos around 1:00 and headed to the River Pub for lunch.  Afterwards, we headed to Academy and Kohl's for some quick shopping.  Then we went to the hotel to get ready for the wedding.  I didn't have my camera, so I stole these from my sister's blog.  Thanks, Jen!

Connor and Luke did such a good job at the wedding, despite the heat.

While we were there, we attempted taking some pictures.

 We enjoyed dancing!

It was a beautiful wedding celebration and we had lots of fun!  Congratulations Jamie and Barrett!

Family Fun

Last week, the girls and I spent the week at St. Philip's Vacation Bible School.  This was a first for both girls.  Juliann headed off to the different stations with the older kids.  I helped teach the pre-k students.  We had 22 eager little students.  They were so much fun to teach!
Friday evening, we headed to the bay.  It was a nice, quiet weekend.  Saturday afternoon, we took the girls down to the beach to play in the sand.

Meme came too and we enjoyed her company.
Poor Daddy, had to put up with all us girls :)
The girls and Jeff had fun making sand castles.
Jeff buried Caroline's legs in the sand.

The girls enjoyed watermellon on the beach.

A duck came over and enjoyed to left overs.  It was a strange sight, seeing a duck on the beach.

On Sunday, we headed back home in time to make it to church.  Then we had a quick lunch and Jeff went to enjoy his Father's Day on the golf course with his Dad.  The girls were excited about giving Jeff a bike.  Now we can all ride together.  That afternoon, we headed to Yaya and Papi's for a wonderful dinner and visiting with Aunt Lou Ann who had traveled from Florida.

Caroline Turns 3!

Caroline turned 3 on June 1.  She had a birthday party a couple of weeks ago.  She and Connor had a Minnie/Mickey birthday celebration.  Jennifer made these cute cupcakes.

The cake was awesome.  One side was Minnie for Caroline and the other side was Mickey for Connor.

The birthday girl and boy!

Caroline and her BFF Abby.

The kids enjoyed the bounce house, swinging and the pinata.

On Friday, we started Caroline's birthday out by going to Prasek's for breakfast.  That afternoon, Caroline opened her first gift.
She got a swimming pool that we set up in the backyard so the girls and Connor could swim.
Family came over and we enjoyed pizza.
Juliann held a lizard for the first time.
Caroline requested a purple cake with pink icing.
