Texas Independence Relay

Jeff and I will be participating in The Texas Independence Relay in a couple of weeks. We are excited about our team, "Sweatbanded Heathens", and looking forward to running the race. We have been training for a month or so. The first time we ran two-a-days, I thought we were crazy for signing up for this torture. I know we will have a blast and it will all be worth it. I hope I can keep up my stamina throughout the race.
The race is a total of 203.2 miles from Gonzales to San Jacinto. There are 40 legs. We have 10 people on our team so we will each run four times. It averages out to about 20 miles a person. We start on Saturday morning, March 5th around 6:00 A.M. and hope to finish sometime Sunday afternoon. You run all day and night until you finish in San Jacinto. We are by no means going to be able to compete with the elite runners who run 6 1/2 minutes miles. They will start after us and finish way before us.
Below is a map of the course. If you are interested in learning more about the race, check out the website www.texasindependencerelay.com
Found this video on the website of what we get to look forward to.

I'll share pictures after the race, once I have recovered!
