Running Weekend

Saturday morning, we headed up to St. Philip School for the Faith Trot.  Jeff and Juliann ran the one mile family run.  They finished with a 9:30 mile.  Meme and Yaya did the 5K.  Caroline danced around, while I tried keeping track of times.  I didn't run this year since I was running a half marathon the next day.

Sunday morning, Jennifer and I headed to Sugar Land at 4:45 AM to run the USA Fit Half Marathon.  We arrived at 5:30 and waited anxiously for our 7:00 start.  Here we are before the race.
This was Jennifer's first half marathon and my fifth.  I had been feeling under the weather and just prayed that I could do my best and all the training would pay off.  I prayed through most of the run that God would help me through it.  My goal was to finish the 13.1 mile run in under two hours and WE DID IT!!!!  I enjoyed sharing this experience with my sister and look forward to doing it again.

I was a little disappointed in the after party.  After most races, they have great food and beer.  I was so looking forward to a cold beer, but they didn't have any.  So we did a little shopping and the headed to Gringos for a margarita.
Thanks for running with me, Sis!
