On Friday, September 27, we began with cards and a gift for Sylvia to open before heading out the door. She got cards from everyone back home and Bobby gave her a beautiful scarf.
Our first stop of the day was to Good Morning America. We waited outside for our moments on TV. We saw all of the hosts and Sylvia got to shake Robin's hand. The female hosts are super skinny and very tall.
Afterwards, we walked towards Central Park. We stopped in several shops along the way. Then it was time for our last surprise for Sylvia. We went in Tiffany's and told her to pick out something for her birthday. She got a beautiful silver beaded necklace and matching earrings. I splurged too, and bought myself a necklace. Then we headed towards Central Park, but first we had to eat a hot dog from a street vendor.
We took a carriage ride through Central Park. This was one of my favorites. I enjoyed hearing about the history and taking in all the beautiful sights.
We went into the toy store and saw the huge piano from the movie "Big".
Then we went to the Waldorf Hotel and had an original Waldorf salad for lunch.
That evening we ate at a local Italian restaurant. It was so yummy! Then we went to see The Lion King.
During the day Saturday, we went into Grand Central Station. It looked beautiful, just like in the movies.
