We're Not in Texas, Anymore!!

On Thursday evening, we loaded up the car, put a movie in and began our 11 hour trek to Wichita, Kansas to visit Aunt Katie and Uncle Nathan.
We were crusing along pretty good until we got to Lott, Texas.  Around this time Caroline was getting hungry and we were trying to decide where to eat in the middle of no where or if we could make it to Waco.  About that time, Jeff was pulled over for speeding.  He had no clue what the speed limit was and was accelerating because we had just slowed down through the town.  The police officer was not nice and gave Jeff a ticket.  Needless to say, we made it to Waco and ate dinner at the Elite Cafe.  Then we loaded up and headed out again.  Jeff drove the whole way.  The girls feel asleep and so did I.  I woke up every hour and asked Jeff is he was okay and needed me to drive.  He said no, he could do it.  And he got us safely to Kansas around 4:30 AM.  We made it just in time because Caroline really needed to go to the bathroom.  We visited and settled in and fell asleep around 5:30.  We awoke around 9:00 the next morning and the girls helped Aunt Katie make pancakes for breakfast.  Uncle Nathan (aka Nate Dog) had to work until noon.

After breakfast, we headed outside to check it out.  The girls had fun playing with chalk.
Here is their home which will look different soon because it is fixing to get a paint job.
Jeff loved the brick streets.

After Uncle Nathan got home, we headed into town for lunch.  Caroline scarfed hers down and Juliann enjoyed hers, too.

We were able to see where Uncle Natan and Aunt Katie met - Old Chicago.
After lunch, Aunt Katie had to go to work.  We went to visit her and did a little shopping at the mall.  Afterwards, we headed to the park in their neighborhood.  The girls had a blast.  Uncle Nathan's niece, Aliza and Nephew, Sam joined us for some fun.

Juliann found some ice on the ground left from the winter storm they had the week before.

That evening, we headed to the local pizza place, Ziggy's.  Everything was wonderful!!

Then we headed back to the house, where everyone was ready to crash!
Stay tuned, more to come...
